DAY 12: Errands and Calendaring...and Procrastinating What to Take and What to Forsake

Now that the "Major Events" have concluded, we're working through ticky-tack things that aren't nearly as important, but still need to be finished.

For example: We have gift cards and free meals and such from loyalty programs, so we're trying to map out maximizing those.

I started day 12 by cashing in a free acai bowl at Nekter; after all of the fast food and fried things my body needed something with actual raw nutrients.

From there, I headed out to pick up my commission check from Ethan and Lilly's townhouse; I gifted 5/6ths of it towards their closing costs, keeping enough to cover my expenses.

Then I dropped off about 15 years' worth of old electronics for recycling at TechBros in North Phoenix. This task has perpetually been on our "to-do" list; the box I took in, we moved from our last house 2.5 years ago. If you have outdated electronics, please seek out a location for recycling! Most take your items for free, and it keeps them from adding to the landfill masses.

A quick stop at the bank to deposit checks, then to Safeway for basic groceries to hold us over. I don't plan on doing much cooking in the AirBnB, but we need snacks and drinks.

We're trying to coordinate visits with the folks who are asking to see us before we leave, and I'm delighted that we'll be able to meet up with Scott and Kasey - they spend their summers in Upstate New York, and because I am the worst at making plans, I didn't get to see them before they left for the summer. As luck would have it, they are back in Scottsdale on Sunday, so we'll be able to meet up with them next week. They are our friends that went with us to San Pedro March of 2020, as COVID was kicking into gear!

I haven't started on re-packing our luggage nor sorting through the bins of randomness we hastily brought over; I need a few days of NOT packing or making decisions on what to take and what to forsake. Same with completing the excel of our shipping manifest - Jhimel at Belize Freight said it's not due until August, and I am going to exploit that grace period by at least a few more days!
